A Brave New World

Today is a big day.
It's one of those days you remember for your whole life.
It's a day where your heart feels like it is being ripped right in half.
Half in my big white house, in the woods, with my mother and father, and brother and sister, and cat, and dogs.
The other half soaring through the air eagerly awaiting a new adventure.
Today is the day I leave home.

Katie and I packed up in my little blue Geo Metro and drove the 888 miles from Seattle to Provo, Utah so I can attend Brigham Young University. After 8 tanks of gas, two stops for ice cream, 30 rounds of Johnny Cash, and one mental break down we arrived in town at one in morning. I slept at my grandparents house and then woke up the next morning drove to my little apartment and began unpacking my car.

A week earlier I flew down to Provo with my mother. I took the bare essentials and saw my new apartment and met my roommates. Everyone has been even better than I could ever have hoped for. I couldn't have hand picked lovelier girls. Our apartment is super ghetto but I'd so much rather be with poor white trash like me than those of another sort. I am so excited to be here. I miss home everyday, but I know this is where I'm supposed to be.
